FAQ's

Why do contractor charge what they do?

Reputable contractors pay for contractor liability insurance, licensing (state and county) and do not forget all the taxes we have to fork over. The federal, state and county all want their share. I remember a college economics professor telling the class, "businesses never pay any taxes, they just collect it for the government".

How do I check to see if my contractor is licensed?

You check with the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation to see if they have a current license.

Why is contractor liability insurance so important?

Without general contractor liability insurance, you would have to pay for any damage done to your property such as fire caused by an electrical short or a flood from a ruptured pipe. Granted, these things rarely happen, but can you afford to take the chance?
